Everyone,

It is hard to believe how fast the weeks fly by during our season. I am starting to plan the President’s Cup BBQ for this year. The event will be held on July 3rd. There will be a sign up sheet in the pro-shop starting this week at the sign in desk. If you plan on attending please sign up so that I can plan accordingly and get the right amount of supplies and food for the event. We will have a couple of new opportunities to win prizes this year, THANKS ROY!!!! Also please be aware that we have weekly prizes for long drive (gold and white tees), long putt and closest to the pin. We have been leaving prizes on the course as no one signed up on the score sheets. Please make sure to put your name on the card even if you think you won’t win. You can’t win if you don’t put your name down!!!

Also the course continues to be very wet in all the usual places as well as some areas that are normally dry. For those of you who ride PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU ARE ON THE COURSE. DO NOT DRIVE THE CARTS INTO A WET AREA WHETHER IT IS ROPED OFF OR NOT!!!. Be especially careful around the greens and other areas that appear to be wet or soft. I played this morning and there is still a lot of standing water in places and a fair amount of damage to the fairways from careless operation of carts. Also PLEASE repair and/or replace divots. This is just a reminder so that when things finally do dry out we will continue to have a beautiful course with the best views in the lakes region to play on.

With the unstable and unpredictable weather so far this season please be patient with me. In the event of a rain out call I begin talking with the course reps at approximately 1 PM and we discuss the course condition as well as the potential for heavy rain, and lightening. I will try to make the call as early as possible but not later than 3PM. A group email and text message will be sent to the membership notifying of the cancellation of play for the night. I make every effort to get the matches in every week but sometimes course conditions and weather don’t permit it to happen. As a board we will adjust the schedule as needed to get all the matches in for the season and still get the playoffs in before the fall maintenance begins.

Just a reminder that if you can’t make your match, PLEASE contact your opponent to see if you can play the match earlier in the week and to let them know you won’t be there to play. Also make sure to contact the Pro-Shop at the The Ridge and let them know you won’t be there so they can make up a card for your opponent. There is also a call out sheet on the league bulletin board that you can list dates you know you won’t be able to play. This is very important as a NO CALL NO SHOW will result in ZERO points for your match instead of the one point for calling in. This has been a factor on who gets into the playoffs for the last two years so PLEASE call in if you can’t make it to your match.

See you all on the course
